Preferred Post-Workout Food


After exercising, it is recommended that a person’s meal should have the following characteristics:


Contains a good amount of protein, between 15 to 25 grams, depending on the person's weight, gender, and body type.

Contains carbohydrates to replenish the energy burned during the workout.

Rich in water, such as water or unsweetened juices, to compensate for the fluids lost during exercise.


Suggested Post-Workout Foods:


A sandwich with chicken, turkey, or tuna, with hummus and vegetables.

Lentil soup, as lentils provide fluids, proteins, and carbohydrates.

Chicken or fish soup with vegetables.

Two eggs prepared as an omelet with mushrooms and bread.

Whole grain pasta with fish or chicken.

Baked potato with cottage cheese.

Mashed potatoes with grilled or boiled chicken breast.
